NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY IN ABERDEEN - BABY I

Baby I made her appearance in to the world in November last year, and I had the loveliest time photographing her and her beautiful family over a cup of tea or three! Her big brother is the definition of doting - just look at how proud he is!

Here’s a little peek from their session -

ABERDEEN NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY - BABY G

On a snowy January morning, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a few hours than with this gorgeous bunch, who welcomed baby G in to the family just before Christmas. Natasha wanted a nice, relaxed session at home and I was delighted to oblige. All my newborn sessions are baby led, meaning we go at your babies pace - if they need fed, they can have a feed, if they need a cuddle and a walk around, then that’s what we do. There’s no pressure and no rush, and it means that every session is completely unique.

I was very lucky to have two very obliging girls to photograph, and Natasha and Simon did pretty well too! You can view more information on my newborn sessions here or pop me a note via my contact page - I’m always happy to answer any questions you may have.

Here’s just a few of my favourites from their gallery -

Newborn Photography in Aberdeen - Baby George

And just like that, the summer holidays are over! I've had an epic summer of weddings, newborn sessions and lots of fun with my own two little ones. The return to school means a bit more time to catch up on blogging, and I'm starting with the oh so gorgeous George! I met his mum Faye for an at home maternity session, and we didn't have long to wait to meet baby G. Here's just a few images from his newborn session - isn't he delicious?

NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY IN ABERDEEN - BABY E

Aberdeen has been experiencing a baby boom these past few months, and I have had an amazing time meeting so many gorgeous new families and getting to spend some time photographing them in their homes! Theanna and David were referred to me by a mutual photographer friend for their newborn session, and I caught up with them a few weeks after baby Ellie made her early arrival in to the world. Both sets of grandparents had flown over the Atlantic to meet her, and it was extra special to be able to capture some moments with them as well. Here's just a little sneak peek from their gallery -

This was pretty much Ellie's first thought of me - B O R I N G!

If you are looking for a newborn photographer in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire, I'd love to hear from you. My sessions are relaxed, baby led and very natural - I capture you and your family, just as you are. Having worked with hundreds of families, your baby is in safe hands - find out more information here or email me here

LUCIA - NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY IN ABERDEENSHIRE

After a gorgeous outdoor maternity session the week before Lucia made her appearance in the world, I couldn't wait to head out to her parent's Inverurie home to photograph them all settling in as a family. I adore newborn sessions - and the connection I quickly build with you means that I can tell your family story in heartfelt and beautiful way. Lucia's mum wanted to capture their breastfeeding relationship, and it was an honour to document it for them - you'll see a sneak peek of their full gallery below.

My newborn sessions are bespoke, and completely tailored to the needs of your family - they are relaxed, natural and totally baby led. With lots of time for cuddles, feeds and a cup of tea, it will feel more like a morning spent cuddling your baby than a photo shoot. You can find out more information about my newborn sessions here

BEAUTIFUL, NATURAL AND RELAXED - NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY IN ABERDEEN

Beautiful baby Josephine and her gorgeous mama Morag responded to model call on Facebook last month, and their session was just perfection.

"Vivienne came to our home to shoot a newborn session after I'd volunteered for a model call. I'd never met Vivienne but from the minute she came into our home it felt like having an old friend come to visit. She made it a relaxed and fun experience for all of us, even my huffy 2 year old! She caught some wonderful natural moments and was happy to wait when my daughter needed fed or changed. The photos are absolutely gorgeous, I couldn't be happier with them! I couldn't recommend Vivienne highly enough. My only regret is not having booked a session for my first born! Thank you!"

Capturing those special little details was a big part of this session - I adore Josephine's tiny hand resting on her mama's chest. And those lips - what a pout! I really wanted to celebrate just how amazing women's bodies are with this session, and Morag bravely bared her belly, less than two weeks after welcoming baby Josephine in to the world.

In my sessions, I always aim to capture images that make your heart swell when you see them, the sort of images that I would have loved to have when my two were newborns. Sometimes the first few weeks are such a whirlwind, that you forget to just sit, and soak in that gorgeous newborn smell. Morag was more than happy to relax and breathe in her baby while I captured them together.

Josephine is lucky to have a very handsome and doting older brother, and watching the hearts of siblings grow right in front of your eyes is just amazing.

And there's always time for some cuddles with Daddy - I might have even more of an obsession with baby hands than I do with baby feet!

My at home sessions are available in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, and I'm now booking right through to September. Summer availability is limited and booking up fast - if you'd like to secure your newborn session with me, I'd love for you to get in touch!  You can find more information about newborn sessions here.

NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY AT HOME, ABERDEEN

One of the best parts about an at home newborn session is easily being able to incorporate the whole family in to the shoot, without any stress or pressure, especially on the younger members of the clan! I had a lovely morning spent with the Fotheringhams in the west end of Aberdeen, celebrating the arrival of their beautiful new daughter, who was being doted on by her big proud sister. Here's just a few images from their session (may take a moment to load - give it a second if they don't appear immediately)

JACK - ABERDEEN NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY

Oh me, oh my, little Jack was just the cutest. I had photographed big brother Callum last year  and it was lovely to see the family again, especially because not only was there a beautiful new baby to photograph, but lots of upcoming wedding chat to be had as well!

My newborn photography style is really relaxed and natural, and sessions should feel like a morning spent cuddling your baby, rather than a photo shoot.  I just document you and your family as you get to know your brand new squish - those little moments that are so special, but pass in the blink of an eye. If you're expecting, I'd love to chat and hear more about your impending arrival - you can email me here

Here's just a little peek at their newborn at home session last month

Newborn Photographer in Aberdeen - Baby C

This little love was a star for her session, and snuggled in close to her Mum, Dad and big brother for lots of lovely cuddles while I photographed their family moments. Lifestyle newborn photography sessions, in the comfort of your own home, where you can just relax with your baby, are one of my most favourite things to shoot. I am incredibly lucky to have such wonderful clients who allow me to come and capture them, at this most special and life changing time!

Newborn Photography Aberdeen - Baby Nathaniel

I had the pleasure of photographing Nathaniel's mum Penelope in the very last few weeks of her pregnancy, so I was especially excited to go back and meet him - especially after his super speedy arrival in to the world at home! He was a super chilled little man, and I had a great time with him and his gorgeous big brother too. Here's just a few images from his session -

Newborn baby Photography aberdeen and aberdeenshire - in the comfort of your own home

Becoming a parent for the first time, or welcoming a new baby in to your family is a wonderfully exciting time. However, it can be overwhelming, and you may feel like you will never leave the house on time again! After the birth of my second baby last year, I decided to rethink my newborn photography sessions, and what I was able to offer parents. Knowing how I felt in the early days with both my children, I wanted to make having my newborn photography session as enjoyable, and stress free, as possible.

A few people have asked me 'what happens during an at home newborn session?' and what it actually entails, so I thought I'd write a blog post to give you a deeper insight in to why it would be right for you and your family.

You can book your newborn photography session with me at any point in your pregnancy. To avoid disappointment, I do advise to book earlier rather than later.  But because I photograph newborns up to 8 weeks old, it give us a little leeway if you book nearer the end of your pregnancy, or even after baby is born. We can book you in via email, or if you'd like to talk over what you want from your newborn session, then we can chat on the phone or in person, and I'll answer any questions you may have!

Rather than you having to come to me, I come to your home.  This means you don't have to worry about getting ready, trying to work out feeds, putting baby in the car, or even getting dressed! I cover Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire mostly, but can travel further afield by arrangement. All you need to do is pop me an email or text once baby has been born and you're settled at home, and from there we organise a date for your session.

On the actual day of your newborn session, I'll ask you to make sure your house is cosy (just so baby is warm and comfortable for any undressed shots) but I don't need you to prepare much for my arrival. I aim to capture you getting to know your new baby - those moments that are so often missed and never committed to an image because they are just normal, everyday occurrences. These moments can be so beautiful, and truly show the connection between you all as a family, and I'll be there to photograph them as they happen.

My style is very natural and relaxed, and newborn sessions are entirely led by your baby - I listen to what they need and we go at their speed. Having worked with hundreds of families, I have lots of experience with newborns and know that they are most definitely in charge!   Sessions usually last around 2 to 2.5 hours, so there is lots of time for cuddling, milk and more cuddling throughout - there is absolutely no pressure on you or your baby at any point.

aberdeennewbornphotographer

It can be a bit of a thought stepping in front of the camera, but I encourage all parents to get in the picture - it's a time you don't want to forget. Not only will you look back and be glad you did, but your children will cherish the images of you with them as newborns in the years to come.

I tailor your session uniquely to your family, so no two newborn sessions are ever the same. It's a great way to escape the onslaught of new baby visitors, by taking a quiet day with your family to bond, cuddle, chat over tea and biscuits, and enjoy creating some special memories together.

If this is your second, third or more baby, then I totally understand what it can be like dealing with a new baby and older siblings. They don't have to pose for me, and they can pop in and out as they feel able, meaning they can stay happy and relaxed (and so can you!). I often find that they like to 'help' me, and that's ok too!

If this sounds good to you, I'd love to tell you more! Drop me a line with your due date and location, and I'll reply within 48 hours, with an online booking form and answer any questions you may have.
